Think about it. Fantastic 4 is about a family with super powers. The Incredibles is about a family with super powers.
Mr Incredible has plain brute strength, Like Ben Grimm, the Thing, in Fantastic Four.
Mrs Incredible is able to stretch herself like elastic, just like Mr Fantastic, Reed Richards of Fantastic 4.
Violet can turn invisible and create force fields, exactly like Sue Storm, or Mrs Reed Richards of Fantastic 4.
Dash is a kiddy version of DC comics Flash. The speedster who moves at superspeed. Dash even sounds like Flash.
Then there is Jack Jack who can go up in flames, like the torch, from Fantastic 4. When Jack Jack gets angry he turns into a monster, like The Thing.
Not much originality here huh?
Still, kids are crazy about the Incredibles. It is an enjoyable movie, no doubt about it. Kids loved the merchandise too. They cajoled their grandparents into buying Incredibles toys and I did get them an Incredibles comic book, which they simply loved.
