Legion of Super-Heroes
The Legion of Superheros was founded by Imra, Garth and Rokk. Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy respectively.
The story is set way in the future where humans and aliens live in harmony and interplanetary travel is common. Different beings from different planets have different powers unique to their people. Saturn Girl is a powerful telepath, like the other people on her planet. Cosmic Boy like the other people on his planet, has magnetic powers, a necessity on his planet to repel the metallic beasts that would otherwise destroy the people there. Lightning Lad on the other hand got his powers together with his twin sister, Lightning Lass, when lightning beasts struck them with lightning leaving them in a coma, after which they recovered with these lightning powers.
The 3 of them were on a plane when Imra detected an attempt on the life of a billionaire and cried for help. Garth and Rokk responded with their powers and saved the life of the billionaire, R.J. Brande who was one of the richest men in the galaxy. He told them about Superman from the past and offered to launch a new organization of superheros, with them as the founding members. Brande funds the Legion of Super heros.
Various teenaged aliens from different planets with different powers would audition for a place in the Legion of Superheros. The United Planets imposed a 24 superhero limit, so they could not have more than 24 members at any time.
Each legionnaire is given a flight ring which enables them all to fly.
Other heros include
Mon-El (He came from a planet with an orange sun, so he has powers similar to Superboys, though he can use only one power at a time and he is not as strong as Superboy. Lead affects Mon-El the same way Krptonite affects Superboy.)
Phantom Girl can turn immaterial at the drop of a hat
Braniac 5 who is unbelievably brilliant
