The Punisher was inspired by a similar fictional book character the Executioner. He first appeared in Spiderman comic in 1974 stalking Spiderman as he believed Spiderman to be a criminal. At that time , the public was not used to the idea of an anti hero so the Punisher did not have his own comic title. All that changed in the 80s when he had three comic titles. The Punisher seeks to kill criminals by whatever means. The Punisher wears a black shirt with a white skull on it. He has a tragic history. He was a member of the special forces in the Marines. His family witnessed the killings by mafia and the mafia decides to silence his family. However he survives the attack. From then on, his mission is to eradicate the criminals by whatever means.
