I watched the anime Akira years ago. It left quite an impact. An incredible storyline, beautiful graphics, even though it is anime, you can really feel for the characters in the movie.
The story is about a bunch of children or teens who were used like lab rats by scientists tampering with human evolution. The children develop supernatural powers, yet the powers are beyond what their bodies can contain, leading to immense pain which has to be controlled at all times with drugs.
